I’m Ieashia (ieashia, its spelt with an i)
I am the face behind ISJ Photography. Based in Essex, with a huge passion for travel, freedom and more recently the health & wellbeing for us mothers.

My passion for photography started when I was a child.

I remember my granddad sitting me on his knee and showing me how to use his 35mm camera: from putting in the film to explaining how important it is to capture the right moment!

He’d say,
“There are only 27 shots, so we don’t want to waste one!”

From that point on, I was hooked!

Capturing moments and memories is my passion. For me, there is nothing better than looking back at a photograph and all the memories, feelings, happiness and laughter of that moment come rushing back to you.

MY JOURNEY

Took my first ever photo

Then it became a firm hobby of mine & grandads, as he taught me the basics.

Got my first DSLR

A 16th birthday present and ready for starting college that year, the journey of digital photographer began

Became a 1st Class Digital Photography Graduate

And started working in the media and magazine industry as a picture researcher

My Motherhood era

Well into the depths of my own motherhood journey, whilst also realising how important it is, to make sure other mothers are captured with their children.

Became a 1st Class Digital Photography Graduate

I graduated from London Southbank University, and quickly started my working career in the media and magazine industry as a picture researcher and assisting on shoots.

2013 was also the year I started freelancing & photographed my very first wedding!

And then in 2014 I embarked on my journey of travelling the world as a photographer on board the MS Statendam Cruise Ship – one of the best things I have ever done.
This changed my life forever.

My Motherhood era

Life has a slower pace now, I am settled on land, mummy to the most beautiful little boy recently become a big brother! And celebrating 10 years of ISJ being born. I am so proud of what I have created, the love I have documented and the stories I create.

We are in the age of digital cameras, where everyone has access to a camera and so lots more chances to catch the perfect shot. But having a film camera background has served me well. It made me have patience to wait for these moments and use my skill to frame and find the perfect moment to freeze. And now I implicate that into my story telling, allowing you to be part of your family legacy. Trust me when I say, your children will want to see you in the images with them one day.

Images caught this way can take you back to the most precious moments of your life to revisit those happiest of feelings anytime you like. You can look at your well-worn husband of 20 years like you’re newly in love and engaged or just married again. You can look at your grumpy teenager like they’re that precious little baby again. You can look at a family portrait with a loved one who is no longer with us again and feel their presence.

I don’t dictate the moments, I capture them.
